Hutt Indoor Sports

Here are some photos from our trip to Hutt Indoor Sports. We had a great day participating in a variety of different sports and playing at Junglerama.

Board Games

This week we have started to make our own board games. We used our Discovery time this week to look at a variety of different board games.

We discussed playing collaboratively and created a Y-chart about what it would look like, feel like and sound like.  We then took turns at playing some new games.

Games

Our topic for term four is board games. During discovery this week we looked what games our parents and grandparents may have played while they were at school.

Swimming

Term three was so busy! We spent the last two weeks of term at Huia Pool, where we had lessons each day. We finished our two weeks with a swimming showcase and a fun day.

Shadows

This term we have been learning about shadows. We have looked at how shadows are formed, how the position of the light source affects the size of the shadow and we have been investigating whether objects are transparent, translucent or opaque.

Storylines - Shine a Light

On Wednesday we had Storylines come and perform a show based on some New Zealand books that we have been reading in Room One.

Kapa Haka

This term in Kapa Haka we are learning to use rakau sticks. Each week we are getting better at throwing, catching and clapping our rakau sticks!
